How can I avoid scars?

I have an abrasion on my face about a size of a coin. I'm worrying about scarring on my face.How can I avoid scars?
Is it a really deep abrasion, or like a graze thing, cause grazes dont really scar badly, but if its like a huge chunk of flesh removed im afraid there isnt much you can do to avoid scarring, maybe get a nice skin colored make up to cover it with. Or tan it real good.How can I avoid scars?
Look at applying some Bio-oil to your skin. It cleared a scar that I had from ages and it is known to prevent scars also.
