Has anyone used prefer on for scars?
I just started using it on a scar I have on my midsection and the skin is flaking a little bit on my scar. is this normal?Has anyone used prefer on for scars?

The only way to get rid of spider veins and vericose veins is to either have lazer treatments, or injections to collapse the vein. It's much easier to hide them. A great trick I like to use is using one of those gradual sunless tanners. I like the one dove makes, it doesn't smell bad like the others. It makes the viens much less noticable, and makes your legs look thinner too. As for the acne scars, the most effective way to get rid of them is to get a series of light chemical peels at a spa or skin care center. It's not as scary as it sounds, but it can be pricey. It takes a bit of time, but im positive that if you use this tropical and dab some acv dilutd with water, those maarks will fade in time. gd luck :)

depends on how jagged the cut was and exactly how deep. the deeper the damage the longer and harder it is to get rid of the scar. time can help a little with discoloration and healing, but once it's a scar that's it ur stuck with it pretty much. if the wound is still healing try keeping aquaphor or neosporin on it. if it's already healed try mederma, it's supposed to help minimize scars.Do scars resulting from deep facial lacerations go away. No they won't go away but you can help to reduce the red scarring tissue. A friend of mine found that after major surgery if she put 100% vitamin E oil onto her scar 3 times a day, it helped to reduce her scar tissue. There are now lasers on the market that could possibly give you the result that you want. Without seeing them, I can't really tell you for sure. However, there are other methods as well. My advice would be to see a plastic surgeon certified with ASPRS. You can find the ones that are certified by going to the ASPRS website. They will definitely be able to tell you what needs to be done. I CAN tell you that they can definitely be helped if not removed completely. If your plastic surgeon does not work with the new lasers, then he will send you to someone who does, if that is his recommendation. Many plastics don't charge for an initial consultation, or if they do, it is a negligible amount. Also, check with your insurance company..for something like this (reconstructive) they may cover it.

hello =) i think that the first thing you should do is try to keep a clean face..have a routine or make it a point that you always have your face clean..bring with you some moist/wet tissues that are recommended for the face..also, oil blotters or oil-control paper would definitely help because it decreases the oil on your face..
second, make sure you know your skin type so you could buy the ones suitable for you..and try to choose products that are non-comedogenic..which means that they won't clog your pores..
if these simple fixes don't work for you still, might as well consult a dermatologist..it might be on your genes already..and they know what to do..

Also, while the piercing is healing, you will notice a white, or slightly yellow discharge, and it will get crust around the outside. Clean that off from the outside as soon as you can. The white stuff however, is basically a liquid scab from the inner lip. Its not puss, and its completely normal. However, if that discharge turns green or brown, you could have a small infection.

Many people say there is no way to reduce scarring; that is not true. A few years ago I was scarred when a young goat threw his head up, leaving a triangular scar just below my eye. It was not only the skin that was damaged. The muscle and tissue underneath was injured, as well. However, I've managed to reduce the scar to the point that it is only visible as an out-of-place dimple when I smile--there is no alternate pigmantation. To get these results you have to start before the wound if finished healing though.
Fisrt, keep the wound clean and do not let it get infected. This can result in even more scar tissue. after it has scabbed, don't pick at it. underneath the scab new flesh is forming, flesh that can be damaged if the scab is removed. This, too, will increase the amount of scar tissue and hinder the healing process.
Once healing is complete, the scar will have set in. Reducing the amount of sun exposure will keep the scar from darkening. You may find that there is more to it than an off color: there may be something that feels kind of like a lump underneath. That is also scar tissue, its just beneath the surface.
My scar had a lot of that tissue underneath. I applied lotion to it multiple times a day, combined with gentle massages every time I applied the lotion. You can try using creams and oils that are meant to reduce scarring. (Bio-oil, Meladerm, etc), though I got by without them. Vitamin E is very good for improving elasticity; you can rub it directly onto the scar and/or take capsules orally for overall skin health.
You must continue this treatment for months. Scars do not just vanish in a week. There are various lotions and oils out there that will reduce the amount of effort and time spent of the reduction of scars, though I haven't tried any of them. Have patience, and good luck!

UGH me and you suffer from the same thing. I have a bad scar under my nose from a dog bite about 2-3 years ago. It sucks i have tried allot it is fading more but in the summer it shows up bad. Make sure to keep it Sun Blocked with really good sun cream. Use maderma. Cocoa butter works well to. Most times sit scars fade away themselves. You can get plastic surgery which is what the doctor advised me to do. Im not doing it though its so unnatural. Use this cream i found it really helps. The scars fade way more i started seeing a differnece in just 2 days of using this the recipe is.

How do you treat acne scars?
i use to have moderate acne but now it getting alot better,i dont have pimple anymore,just some tiny little white bumps on my forehead, so now i have a bunch of acne scar,,,,it doesnt go in my skin tho ,just dark mark ..most of them are on my cheek

I also take turmeric capsules, from the health food store, and folks say I have great skin. You need to get enough calcium, vitamin A, C, D and E to heal any scarring naturally.
Try eating a lot of different vegetables and drinking lots of milk and yoghurt. Use a gentle soap, with a pH balance.

I think that you need to love yourself before you can look for someone to love you, that will help at least in at least the smallest amount to help you stop cutting. But that's not what your looking for. I don't think that anyone would care that you have scars on your body from cutting. They just need to know that it was a hard time in your life. I've dated people who have scars from cutting themselves and it just shows the amount of strength they have to quit giving into the quick fix of ending the emotional pain. Does that make sense? It really depends on the situation. I was once with a girl who had cut herself. One day she just decided to not see me anymore and it wasn't because of anything I did. She broke my heart.

I do have a burn scar on my arm. It does make me self conscious. It has been eleven years healing that scar.
The scar is lighter now. I would make up a reason if I had to explain where it came from unless I knew the person very well.

Ask, many people love to share when they can trust someone to care. And remember, scars never go away so even when they're changed.. they have to compensate for those marks the world will always see.

I think the big decision before you date is if you can take it if they relaspe and start to self harm or if they are self harming now. Spelf harm is like any addicitoin it is often hard to treat becase the person become addicted to the relief it gives or the sense of being alive. They can also hide it very well when they do not want to be caught. So realize this and if you have issues with people not being upfront or not ';trusting you'; this may not be the route to take. IF you are willing to be patient, loving, and a constent in this persons life then go for it. But be sure of your feelings and limitations before getting into it ...you dont want to cause more damage than good. Best of Luck

If someone likes another then what they look like or what they do shouldn't be an issue. And even if the person is a bit put off, if they like you, they'll see past it.

I was in a bad bike crash years ago that scared half of my body. I love who I am on the inside which diminishes the scares on the outside. My friends take me for who I am. As far as dating, no problem, I'm who I am.

I've dated all type of people. Everyone carries scars, the real indicator in people isn't what scars they carry, it's how they've healed. Now if they are fresh wounds, then that person probably doesn't have room in their lives for a romantic relationship. If they don't love themselves or are recovering, they can't love you the way you deserve to be loved. A relationship may serve as a distraction from their healing process.
Though, there is nothing wrong with being as much of a friend as you can, without compromising your safe distance. Everyone needs friends, especially someone who is so hurt by their perspective of life they are willing to take it out on their body. Remember, the safe distance part of what I said. You don't want to lead anyone on.
It wouldn't matter to me. I'm imagining the person I love having scars from self-harm, and I can't see myself making judgment. I'd feel bad for the pain that person went through, and I wouldn't refuse to date someone based on that.

I know some that have and they are what they call 'borderliners'. They carry a heavy load, I wouldn't want to trade places with them. Asking me if I'd get involved with a cutter? Personally, I wouldn't. Sorry to say, but it's not the easiest relationship, and I admire those who can, I just couldn't. There's just not enough love in me I'm afraid. Hate me for it, but I'm just not willing to live with very Highs and very Lows. It's the hilly landscape I like, not the Everest.
