If it's scars, use a green corrector pencil/powder to conceal, followed by a foundation, concealer. Next, it's very important to apply shine-control powder to your T-zone (forehead %26amp; nose), then finally a separate loose powder for other parts of your face.

If your acne problem is there, I'd advise you to see a dermatologist to heal it first. Wearing makeup isn't good for acne prone skin. Or use dual skincare %26amp; cosmetic product brands like Averine.
Mineral foundation usually has good coverage and is gentle on the skin. But make sure you read the ingredient list and get one that does NOT have bismuth oxychloride. This is what causes most mineral foundations to look shiny. If you don't mind ordering online, www.signatureminerals.com is where I get my foundation from. It doesn't irritate my skin, offers coverage and it's not shiny. TIP: Once you find a foundation you like, stick to it. Your skin will behave better with consistency, instead of switching products all the time.
Use this product called ';photo finish color correcting'; by Smashbox cosmetics. It's a greenish color. Green and red are opposite from eachother on the color wheel, so green cancels out redness. It's pricey but does the job. It acts as a primer as well, so once you apply it you apply foundation afterwards. I use Maybeline Matte Mousse. Those 2 products combined are amazing. I have redness in my skin tone, and these two products wipe it out completely, it really gives me a great finish. You can find smashbox cosmetics are Sephora or online :)
I use Maybelline Matte Mousse but it can be shiny so I always put a powder over top, I use Rimmel Stay Matte but any powder compact would work fine :)
