I want lip piercings do they leave noticable craters, like an earing or small scars?

If you get a lip ring, remember that you will NEVER get rid of the scar when you decide you no longer want to wear the ring.

Additional info: A lip ring is usually a pretty painless piercing. And its also very quick. No matter how nervous you are, normally it doesn't take more than ten seconds to do.





After you get it done, you're going to have a fat lip for about a day and a half, but thats normal. Also, its going to be a little bit odd when you eat something after you get it pierced, especially if you have a tongue ring since that can sometimes get caught, but you'll figure it out pretty quick.





If possable, see if your piercer could pierce your lip with a Captive Bead Ring instead of a stud, because those don't rub against your teeth and gums as much, and they're less likely to get caught when you chew something.





However, if your piercer does the piercing with a post, keep this in mind: Your gums have to get used to the metal being there, so they will get very sore and irritated looking. That's completely normal. After a week or so, that irritation will go away. The only reason its there, is because the tissue isn't used to the stud.





Also, while the piercing is healing, you will notice a white, or slightly yellow discharge, and it will get crust around the outside. Clean that off from the outside as soon as you can. The white stuff however, is basically a liquid scab from the inner lip. Its not puss, and its completely normal. However, if that discharge turns green or brown, you could have a small infection.





In the case of an infection, DO NOT take the piercing out, because that could make it worse. Keep up with the regular cleaning schedule, and maybe do it a little more if the infection gets worse.





As far as cleaning, brush your teeth, and gently clean both sides of the piercing with Contact Lense Solution, and use any kind of mouth wash morning and night.





The contact lense solution is also good for cleaning the crust from the outside of the piercing since it loosens it up right away. The solution is made out of the same stuff as your tears, its hypoalergenic, and you can usually get it for pretty cheep at Walmart or any other drug store.I want lip piercings do they leave noticable craters, like an earing or small scars?
Most people are just left w/ a small indentation/scar/hole-thing. You usually don't notice them unless the person tells you about it.
