What is the best treatment for chicken pox. I am 23 yr old female and they are forming scabs. don't want scars

I hope you've been to the doctor, if not, go. Adults can have more severe symptoms with chicken pox than kids. Your doctor may prescribe acyclovir to help shorten the illness.

For itching, take oatmeal baths and try calamine lotion. It has to be reapplied frequently but is soothing. Aveeno makes pre-packaged oatmeal bath mix, but you can make your own by putting about 1/3 cup of oatmeal in a dishrag and making a little bag out of it by fastening it closed with a rubber band. When you fill the tub let the water run over this and then put it in the tub while you soak.

The most important thing is not to scratch because that will increase the likelihood of scarring. What is the best treatment for chicken pox. I am 23 yr old female and they are forming scabs. don't want scars
You should see a Doctor. Chicken Pox is a virus that even when the outer signs disappear can still remain in your system.

Don't pick at the scabs or you will scar. Call a Doctor's Office for recommendation of an ointment to use and they will more than likely want to examine you. Take them up on it.What is the best treatment for chicken pox. I am 23 yr old female and they are forming scabs. don't want scars
